Mini Wire Lafora Screening Results - Autumn 2022

A DNA test for Lafora Disease has been available for more than 10 years and screening is a Requirement for members of the KC’s Assured Breeder Scheme. We continued to see a high uptake of DNA testing and a low proportion (4% in 2022) of litters that potentially included “Affected” puppies.

Thanks to Mandy Dance for collating the most recent set of results from the KC Breed Recrods Supplement. 54 litters producing 212 puppies: one litter producing two puppies where neither parent was tested. All other litters were safe.
